The dusky beauty Deepika Padukone is now an international star. The long legged actress is currently shooting for her upcoming film Tamasha in Corsica and she has found herself in the local publications there. Strikingly, actress Deepika Padukone is also being approached by a lot of Indian cross over and foreign fans for autographs and pictures while her shooting. It's not a miracle that the media and people in Corsica are going bananas over snapping her and asking for her attention. This only goes to prove that the Cocktail diva has earned a huge name and fan following not only in India but also worldwide. Even Kevin Spacey and John Travolta were high on their praise for the actress at IFFA early this year. "We have been receiving a lot of media requests from local publications in Corsica. Also, she is being approached by a lot of fans for pictures and autographs,” confirms Deepika's spokesperson. The dusky actress, rapped in India by CAA Kwan, she says she would love to work in Hollywood ventures. “I’m a Woody Allen fan,” she said. “That’s the kind of cinema I would like to do. Simple love stories or drama; that’s what I’m drawn to even in Hindi cinema.” she added.
Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen and was brought up in Bangalore. She is the daughter of the well known Indian badminton champ Prakash Padukone. Though always athletic and having sports run I in her blood, actress Deepika opted for something out of the box when it came time to take up a career. “I had modeled as a child and was drawn to movies (and) beauty pageants,” she said. “I enjoyed being in front of a camera.” she added. Debuting in a huge budget regional film, her first big break came opposite the king Khan in 2007’s in the film “Om Shanti Om,” directed by Farah Khan. Since then, Deepika Padukone, 27, has been appearing in several Hindi films, also been a spokes model or the face for various products and written columns for Indian papers gaining her career a momentum. Her romances and tattoos have been feeding the drama for the press and media.
Now she will be seen in the forth coming movie Finding Fanny. The English and Hindi versions of Finding Fanny will hit theatres Sep 12. The film Finding Fanny is presented by Fox Star Studios, and there also are plans to set the film out in a separate edited version of Finding Fanny in non-exodus markets – Europe, the US and the Far East - three to four months after its September release. Finding Fanny is a forthcoming Hindi/English satirical, drama film, written and directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films baner and presented by Fox Star Studios. The film Finding Fanny features Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in prominent roles. One night, the old postman Ferdie , character played by Naseeruddin Shah, receives a letter that is slipped under his door. He then realizes that it was the letter he had written to the love of his life 46 years ago, Stefanie Fernandes character played by Anjali Patil, asking for her hand to marry her. To his utter shock and dismay, he discovers that had the letter had never been delivered. All these years the post man Ferdie has lived a life of regret, believing that his love Stefanie had rejected him. He then decides to find his beloved Fanny and tell her the truth. The movie Finding Fanny is a comical story and an off the wall story about a bunch of oddities who venture out to find this girl Stefanie Fernandes (Fanny) and in the process, they discover a unique and strange sense of love and solace amongst each other, and end up seeing a point back to their previously dull and pointless lives.
