Rani Mukerjee is busy in working for her new looks for “Mardaani” promotions

This is an era where movie promotions are just as good as the movie’s actual content, actors take special care to put their best foot forward, even during the promotional activities of their movie.
Take Salman Khan for example. The Bhai of Bollywood, Salman always looks his best while promoting any of his upcoming movies. No matter what his look is in the movie itself, Salman makes sure to wear his own brand, Being Human, to every event or TV show, or any public appearance for that matter. It serves the double purpose of people getting to see a refreshing change in the look of the actor, and also highlight the new collection of the brand he/she is endorsing.
And now, the bahu of the Chopra khandaan, Rani Mukherjee, has made sure to look classy, stylish, and well, different for the promotions of her upcoming movie, Mardaani. Rani Mukerji, who went to Delhi to attend her close friend and designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s showcase at the Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers India Couture Week (ICW), also got a chance to talk to him about the looks she could wear to promote her forthcoming Bollywood film “Mardaani”.
Her look in the movie is not pretty by a long shot, but nevertheless, she wants to look dainty and elegant during the movie promotions.
Rani Mukherjee plays a tough cop in the movie, who busts a racket of flesh trade in Delhi. The movie is slated to release on 22nd August. While Rani mostly wears a formal shirt and trousers in the movie, for the promotions she has opted to go for specially designed sarees. And when it comes to sarees, theres only one name that she trusts. “It had to be Sabya,” she exclaimed. The actress was happy to be present for Sabyasachi’s latest couture showcase.
I can only say that I am very happy to have Sabya as my brother, my friend and my family. I’m lucky to know him…and yes, he makes such beautiful clothes,” she said.
Its interesting to note here, that Sabyasachi Mukherjee, or Sabya, as he is fondly known in the film circles, is a firm favourite of many Bollywood actresses. Vidya Balan, after facing so much criticism for her fashion choices early in her career, now only trusts Sabya for styling her. Wherever she goes, you can be pretty sure what she is wearing has been designed specifically for her, by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Of late, he has even taken up the reigns of other Yashraj’s actresses fashion choices. Parineeti Chopra, and Vaani Kapoor have been told to trust Sabyasachi when it comes to styling them for their films, or attending any parties or public appearances. And going by Parineeti’s previously outrageous wardrobe, it seems like a smart strategy. Sabyasachi’s introduction has seen a noticeable change in Parineeti’s outfits.
Movies might work, or they might bomb, but you can be pretty sure that there is one man laughing all the way to the bank. And no, it’s not the producer.
